Tom Longmire
Tom is the cofounder of Strategic Quality Initiatives and former senior executive with over 25 years of diverse domestic and international experience. His areas of expertise include strategy development and execution, procurement and asset management, logistics, financial and program management, planning, scheduling, manufacturing, and marketing. In his role at SQI Tom has worked with companies such as BP and ChevronPhillips Chemical to design and implement materials and inventory management strategy. In addition, Tom has worked with a small woman owned publishing business as interim COO to improve internal processes, update equipment and facilities, and improve the marketing focus. Tom has also provided training in the areas of process mapping and management, customer service, time management and supplier certification.
Prior to becoming a partner of SQI, Tom was a consulting manager with Accenture. During his tenure at Accenture Tom worked with Fortune 50 companies such as DuPont and ExxonMobil Chemical leading teams in the implementation of global ERP systems. Tom has a solid history of achieving substantial cost savings and directing challenging projects that are consistently completed on time and within budget. In addition, Tom worked with companies such as Huntsman Chemical and National Grid on designing and implementing process improvements and cost reductions.
Prior to joining Accenture Tom served as chief procurement officer for IFCO Systems, a global logistics company. In his role at IFCO Tom led a decentralized procurement team with 102 locations in the US and Canada. Tom's leadership in the area of materials management strategy development and execution achieved significant reductions in both procured material costs while increasing the effectively of inventory management.
Tom served as the director of corporate materials for FSI International
Tom recieved his bachelor of science in business and manufacturing technology from Texas A&M Commerce and his MBA in contract and acquisition management from the University of Dallas.
Tom serves on the board of directors, Southwest Region, for the Association of Manufacturing Excellence.
